Dueling Pianos w/Adam Knauss

I attended my first Dueling Pianos show several years ago at a winery in Stafford, Va. with friends. Being the music lover I am, I was thrilled by the entire evening. One after another, people in the audience took requests (and cash) up to the pianos in hopes of getting their favorite song played. The more cash you gave, the higher your request moved to the top of the list. Many had dedications to special people or for special occasions, some requests were for obscure songs or maybe a song difficult to imagine on the piano, but each one was performed enthusiastically and the pianists had a great time making all those requests happen, even manipulating lyrics to fit occasions, urging guests to sing along, and having what appeared to be a pretty good time.

Turns out that's the case! I got to sit down with Adam Knauss of The Flying Ivories (one of my very favorite DP performers) and director of their Philadelphia office. I loved hearing about his background in music and how he finds himself sitting across from another pianist each night performing requests from people around the region. The Flying Ivories originated in New York City but has expanded all across the country and will send two pianists to your event to help you have a great party, celebrate an occasion, or raise money for your favorite organization.

Dueling Pianos will be featured at The Estate at White Hall Vineyard in King George, VA on Saturday, November 15 at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and a food truck will be on-site selling dinner. Tickets are $30 each and the event will raise funds for Dahlgren Heritage Museum and will include Adam as one of the performers. A great time is guaranteed and all tips will benefit the museum. Tickets are available at 2025 Dueling Pianos | Dahlgren Heritage.
