Janice Jones has accomplished so much in her life. She served our country as a government employee for decades after being told that pursuing an art career just wasn't possible for a woman of her era. She had a career, raised children, and followed all the social norms expected of her. But she never gave up on her art and continued to create in multiple media. Flash forward to today, when she's eagerly anticipating the grand opening of the 2 Rivers Arts Center this Saturday, May 2, in Montross, VA. The center will offer classes, events, and an opportunity for local artists to display and sell their work, among other things.
Janice is just one of those admirable, distinguished women who carries an aura of success. I love her spirit and her drive. She rarely says no to anyone who asks her to become involved in projects that promote the arts. Her artistic spirit may only be surpassed by her adoration of Richard Gere, but seriously, who doesn't understand that?
I loved talking to Janice and hearing her story. She's taken risks and followed her muse, and I think you'll enjoy getting to know her, too.
