Mia Phifer and I grew up in the same small town in Southern Illinois and graduated from high school a year apart, but our lives took very different paths. I traveled the country with my career US Navy Senior Chief husband, settling in rural Virginia, and Mia eventually settled in Chicago, where she has been in her career for 30 years.
It isn't easy to find willing, electable candidates or to run a successful political campaign, but that has never stopped her from taking on a challenge. Over time, and after achieving considerable success, she has even started working with citizens who wish to serve, helping them identify their strengths and hone the tools that make them electable.
I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation. I have always been a news enthusiast and have had a lifelong interest in politics. I consider myself an independent person, but I always err on the side of the human condition. My theory is that our government will forever mismanage our tax dollars. I'd much rather my taxes help someone in need rather than benefit someone who's already wealthy.
Mia is working hard to find candidates who will take their oath to serve seriously and listen to their constituents. I loved learning how she got here and how she's grown her very successful business into more than just campaign management. She mentions her coaching sessions during our conversation, and the link is listed below to sign up for upcoming November sessions.
