Fostering & Adoption - Building a Family

My husband and I are very fortunate to have two great, healthy kids, who are now parents of healthy kids themselves. But everyone knows so many children don't have safe homes or nurturing families. Many become part of the foster program and are placed in homes where temporary families can care for them. Our friends Getzani and Dawn Moguel opened their home to this program, and eventually found their new daughter.

It would be naive to think that this is an easy process. Qualifying for the program is difficult (as it should be). But fortunately, there are those who are patient and navigate the approval process, and work to make kids feel welcome. They help ensure needed medical and mental health care is received and they work to nurture and provide a schedule and sense of family.

I'm really grateful Dawn and Mo agreed to chat with me and explain the ins and outs of their experience, and I'm especially glad their daughter found her forever home.
