Queen w/Julie and Kathy

I was a junior in high school when I was fortunate enough to see Queen live at the Checkerdome in St. Louis. Freddie Mercury's energy, along with Brian May's unique guitar licks, set the stage for an incredible evening.

I was introduced to Queen in grade school by my next-door neighbor, Kathy (Brookman) Nicol. As with Chicago, her older brother Floyd kind of got us both hooked. I received "A Night at the Opera" on 8-track tape, along with my pump 8-track tape player, for my birthday from my maternal grandmother when the album came out in 1975, and I've been a fan for life. The songs on "Night at the Opera" are eclectic and unique, and are some of the songs that make up the fabric of my youth.

I had a blast catching up again with my friends Julie Pietryla and Kathy Nicol to share our top 5 personal favorites. We crossed streams in a couple of places, but I really loved the trip down memory lane and learning which songs meant something to them.

I hope you enjoy and find some great new music for life.

Thanks for listening!
